The CFA-44 Nosferatu appears for the first time in the latest installment of Ace Combat (Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation). The plane is a very advanced multi-role fighter. Its role would compare to today's Joint Strike Fighter. It is less dominant than the Fenrir, but is definitely one of the most advanced aircraft in the world of Ace Combat. A strike team of Fenrirs and Nosferatus would be like modern combat's F-22 and F-35. Not much is known about the fighter, but it would probably fly in the Mach 3 range and be very stealthy. What the CFA-44 is best known for would be its huge inventory of compatible weapons. Aside from a stock of conventional weapons like Aphid missiles, the Nosferatu also carries micro-missile pods and an ECM pod. The micro missiles are very small and light but are quite destructive and hard to evade. They are stored in pods similar to a rocket pod on the bottom of the fuselage and on the top of the plane to the back and both sides of the pilot. These missiles can be launched against any target at up to twelve at a time. The ECM, or electromagnetic counter-measure pod is stored internally and effectively jams enemy radar. In addition to duel 20mm cannons, the CFA-44 also has a powerful rail gun that fires a projectile using electromagnets as apposed to conventional explosives. The Nosferatu is built in a nation that is based on Russia and the plane seems to be modeled off the MiG 1.44 project.
